Outrage Over Children’s Vitamins

Not too long ago Tobacco companies were using cartoon characters to influencekids_playing2 children into thinking smoking was cool. They got in a lot of trouble for that, eventually.

Fast food companies partner with Hollywood and have all sorts of action figures from popular movies at their restaurants.

And corporations do the same to sell all kinds of thing - including vitamins - for children.

Have you ever taken a good look at the labels of the leading brands of kid’s vitamins?

On there you’ll find:

Aspartame, which is a VERY controversial artificial sweetener.

DiCalcium Phosphate, which is used in the “feed” that poultry eats.

Hydrogenated Vegetable Oil, which NOBODY needs to be ingesting.

And all sorts of artificial colors.

Does that look NUTRITIOUS to you???

Ok, I know what you’re thinking:

“Yeah, that’s great. But what other choice do I have? If it doesn’t TASTE good, my kid’s not going to take it.”

Well, I may just have the answer to your prayers. But your child’s taste buds are going to have to decide. As a proud Prograde Partner I’m THRILLED to let you know they have just released an all-natural children’s vitamin. And they’ve gone to great lengths to taste test it with kids.

Wilmington Personal Trainer Gives You Little Lazy Healthy Choices

Alright, so I know that spending hours at the gym may not spark the interest of everyone, but there are plenty of smarter choices that you can make within your everyday life; it just takes some chic thinking, because where there’s a will there’s a way.

Be sure to grab your ZZZZZ's

Be sure to grab your ZZZZZ's

One easy step to a healthier lifestyle is something that everyone can afford, just plenty of rest. At least seven hours of sleep a night is sure to give you more energy to make it through the day. More sleep leads to feeling better and being more alert, and will give you the energy to be a fat burning furnace!

Hold the mayo, I'm watching my calories

Hold the Mayo, I'm Watching My Calories

Other ways to cut corners are sure to save you a few calories a meal. For example, instead of getting white bread on yoursandwich, explore your other options. See if the place you are dining offers whole wheat bread, wheat pitas, or spinach wraps. Instead of laying the mayonnaise on thick try some mustard instead (virtually calorie free), hummus, or an avocado spread are also great mayo alternatives.

Try a new salad dressing; instead of smothering you greens in ranch choose a vinaigrette or even lemon juice. Instead a layering cheese onto your omelets, sandwiches, and salads try going sans cheese, it really makes a difference. Get rid of excess bread, just say no to croutons, tortillas strips, or crackers with soups and salads. Make sure that you are eating breakfast.

Eating in the morning is an important way to kick start your metabolism for the day. Instead of the whole egg, try something with egg whites only. Instead of smothering your side dishes in ketchup (full of sugar and sodium), grab a bottle of hot sauce, or explore your other options. Lastly, we all know that hydration is important it keep you moving.

Sick of water?

Sick of water?

Maybe you don’t want to measure out your eight glasses of water a day, so look for things to spice it up. There are many drinks that now make powders that are flavorful, and less than five calories. The extra flavor is sure to help you incorporate more water into you daily life. Take a water bottle to work, or class, it is one of the most portable, cheap, healthy choices readily available. Cut the sodas out of your meals; whether they are diet, or sugar-free, they are just not good for you!

We all want a little more energy, and seek ways to feel better about the daily choices we make. It is important that in order to make these choices we are first aware of what they are in the first place. Instead of going through the motions, actually think about what you are doing, and make a change.
